A Note on the Price of Precious Metals...
The prices of silver and gold are ABSOLUTELY INSANE RIGHT NOW. The price of silver has risen 82% this year so far. The good news? Your Metalhead Jewelry is an investment! The bad news? I already make well under minimum wage when you factor in my time and materials, so this new landscape is terrifying. I hate having to raise prices any higher than they already are, but unfortunately, that is going to be a reality across the jewelry sector and beyond (especially with tariffs coming to effect now too…). I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your continued support through everything—I work so hard to create original works that are worth the money in creativity, at least, and I hope that you continue to see the value in supporting lone artists like myself.
Meet Nora
The Woman Behind the Wearable Art
Metalhead jewelry emerged from the universal pause of quarantine, when artist-looking-for-her-art-form, Nora Goldie, lost her job due to the pandemic. Nora had lightly dabbled in metalsmithing since a summer workshop before high school in 2008, but it wasn’t until September 2020 that she bought her very first tools. Jeweler's saw in hand, she swiftly realized that this was what she wanted to do every day for the rest of her life--and Metalhead jewelry was born!
Nora hand-fabricates all of her wearable art in her new little basement studio with a lot of heart and hard labor. Every piece of one-of-a-kind jewelry takes days to complete and is dreamt up, designed, created, photographed, and marketed by Nora herself. She hopes you enjoy her creations as much as she enjoys putting it into the world!
