4-Faced / Double Reversible Lavender Chalcedony & Labradorite Necklace
First piece of the year and it's a 4-in-one! It had been a while since a piece gave me hell so I guess I was due—this piece took a week of trial and error and tweaking and swearing to get to its final form.
This necklace is double reversible: a marquis of labradorite swivels on an axis to reveal a second side of lavender chalcedony while the entire pendant swivels on it's own axis, going from concave to convex layered designs. The concave side of the pendant features a base layer of textured silver with bead accents topped by another concave layer of tattered, textured silver and eight beaded wire prongs that hold the stone in place. The reverse side reveals a convex outer cage layer of silver wire stitching and a layer underneath of acid etched silver with a jagged hole from which the stone peeks through.
The amount of work I ended up putting into this piece is ludicrous but I'm so glad to be finished. It is not perfect but it is bold, beautiful, and absolutely the only of its kind in the world!!!!
