FOR ASHLEY ONLY Creeping Shadow / Marcasite in Quartz & Sterling Silver Necklace
I love crazy stones with patterns and inclusions but I find them hard to incorporate into my own already busy work. I often hold onto them for months until the right piece reveals itself to me. This one took me a day to design, two days to complete, and a half a day to photograph and list but I’m soooo jazzed about how it turned out!
A GORGEOUS prong-set teardrop of marcasite in quartz dangles from a beaded wire joint from an asymmetrical shard of acid etch textured silver sheet, torn down the middle as a continuation of the marcasite pattern in the stone. The tear, bordered on one end with brighter silver, is stitched together with two layers of silver stitching. One strand of handmasde beaded wire chain extends from one end of the shard while a double strand adorns the other. Finished with a hook clasp and selective black patina, this necklace is one of my all-time favorite works of badass wearable art!
