The Small Bang / READ FULL DESCRIPTION / Andamooka Matrix Opal (Treated)Necklace

After seeing my broken labradorite necklace (and how I felt a bit broken too), Riley of nn Opals sent me this broken Treated Andamooka Matrix Opal with the sweetest note about how one stranger's kindness sparked his own lapidary career. Riley said this opal was worth thousands of dollars whole. Now, in two, it was sent to me as his own gesture of kindness and magical inspiration for a new Metalhead Piece.
 
Unfortunately, as I was setting the pieces the first time around, I cracked the smaller half in two when tightening a prong. I was going to give up then & there but fiancé Andy urged me to keep going. He said it wasn't worth throwing all of the work and the design down the toilet just because of another break in an alreaedy broken stone; so, I epoxied the smaller half together overnight, remade the setting, and present to you here the final result. The crack is not noticable at a distance but is still visible up close (see photos), however, it is sealed together and secure in the setting. 
 
Because of the second crack, I am selling this piece for much less than I would have--my crack is your gain! As they say. And if no one wants to pay for a double broken stone, I'll just have to keep it for myself.
